About Us
In the Beginning:
In 2006, our founder Bruce, started NorthernKites.com with a mission. A mission to educate, and help all others who seek adventure to get into a fun and exciting sport. Since it was and still is an extreme sport, snow kites were very hard to find when we first started flying them ourselves.
The first time that Bruce got to fly an Ozone Power Kite was in 2004. After seeing a brief news report on the sport of Snow Kiting, he was hooked and knew that he had to try it. It took him over a month of scouring the internet and placing phone calls to find his first kite. He stumbled upon a small dealer out west,and placed his order for his personal 13m Frenzy. He was told "Good Luck, and Have Fun... It's an Extreme Sport." Those few words were all we ever heard from the seller. We at Northern Kites feel the customer deserves much more than that.
At Northern Kites, we have decided that snowkites, kiteboarding kites, Skikes, and Kitewings should be easily accessible to the consumer, and that any questions about the sport are promptly answered.
